Osallistun ensimmäistä kertaa näyttelyyn, jossa teokseni on julistemuodossa. Tämä toi haasteen valita teos, joka toimisi myös julisteena. Siksi päädyin melko graafiseen, piirrosmaisempaan työhön, joka ei ole aiemmin ollut yleisön nähtävillä.

“Kolinkolipeli” on jatkoa vuonna 2014 alkaneeseen ostoskeskusaiheiseen teossarjaan. Yösäilö-galleria on aiemmin toiminut pankkina ja teoksessa on aiheena myös raha. Aihe on hyvin arkinen. Tänä päivänä ihmisillä on riippuvaisuuksia, rutiineja, toivoa ja epäonnea. Tulkinnan jätän katsojalle, mikä on yksinäisyyttä, itsekkyyttä, mitkä ovat syitä taikka seurauksia minne elämä vie.

Susanna Vuorio s. 1977 on taidemaalari, joka käsittelee teoksissaan ajankohtaisia yhteiskunnallisia ilmiöitä. Hän ei käytä työskennellessään apuna valmiita malleja taikka kuvia vaan teokset syntyvät spontaanin, improvisoivan maalaamisen kautta. Maalaaminen on hänelle myötäelämistä, jonka avulla hän yrittää tiedostaa, mitä täällä oikein tapahtuu. Vuorion maalauksia on ollut esillä useissa maamme gallerioissa ja museoissa. Hänen teoksia on mm. Suomen Valtion ja Tampereen Taidemuseon kokoelmissa.

Yösäilö-galleria

Yösäilö-galleria on Tampereen Taidehallin ulkoseinässä toimiva vuonna 2016 perustettu vitriinigalleria. Kunkin näyttelyn taiteilijan kuratoi yksi Tampereen Taidehallin jäsenistä. Kuratoinnissa painotetaan teoksia, jotka huomioivat ympäröivän julkisen tilan sekä sen historiallisen, poliittisen ja taloudellisen kontekstin. Yösäilö on taiteilijalle maksuton.

Tampereen Taidehalli (entinen Tesoman Taidehalli) on syksyllä 2014 perustettu yhdeksän kuvataiteilijan yhteisö, työhuone sekä tapahtumapaikka Tampereen Epilässä vanhassa Yhdyspankin rakennuksessa.

New works by visual artist Timo Bredenberg (b. 1984) are displayed inside a former bank vault, now repurposed by group of artists as a temporary project space. Exhibition is open during one weekend only at Tampereen Taidehalli.

In his work, visual artist Timo Bredenberg, has explored internet communities and political movements using methods from found footage cut-up to virtual derivé. Recently he has been interested in network economies, their material pre-conditions and underlying algorithms.

The Echo of Nike Choir

A poster with still images making a mini-series of the video piece The Echo of Nike Choir. The video consists of fragmented pieces of stories, told by seven women of the group * Nike Women.

* Nike Women is a group consisting of women with disability pension. The group started as a integration- and educational project, but also serving as social meeting place to overcome exclusion and isolation.

My first encounter with the Nike Women was through my mother, who is a member of the group.

It started with the project Dedicated to the Nike Women, where I organized a private vernissage and dinner for the group in their meeting facilities. This with the aim to together with the women create a platform for art discussion outside of the established art world.

This inspired me to develop the relationship to the women and to continue working with them. I invited the women to tell stories from their lives during a film set situation, without demands of specific topics or having a pre-written manuscript. Which created an open and comfortable situation where they could speak freely. The collected footage became the film piece The Echo of Nike Choir.

Yösäilö (eng. Night Safe) gallery is vitrine gallery founded in 2016. The gallery is located at the entrance of Tampere Kunsthalle. Each exhibition is curated by one of the members of Tampere Kunsthalle. Works that consider the historical, political and economical context and the public space surrounding the gallery are emphasized in the curating process. Yösäilö gallery is free of charge for the artist.

Tampere Kunsthalle (former Tesoma Kunsthalle) is a is a collective, self-organized studio and do-it-yourself-exhibition space all in one.
